Korean Edition of Creatures of the Same God

2nd March 2015

Korean CoverCentre Director Andrew Linzey’s book, Creatures of the Same God: Explorations in Animal Theology has recently been published in Korean. The book is the first of its kind published in Korea and is likely to arouse considerable discussion.

The text was translated by Professor Yoon-Jae Chang, who is Professor of Systematic Theology at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. Professor Linzey wrote a new introduction for the Korean edition.

In his Introduction, Professor Linzey said:

“There is a burgeoning animal protection movement in Korea that offers the possibility of making huge strides for animals. I like the words of John Stuart Mill that: “All reform movements go through three stages; ridicule, discussion, acceptance.” That animals are now on the intellectual agenda in Korea augurs well for the future. It is my hope that this book will help generate more discussion around the animal issue, to get us closer to that third stage, acceptance.”

The book is published by The Daejanggan Publishing Company and further information about the book can be obtained directly from Professor Yoon-Jae Chang at shalom@ewha.ac.kr.
