Ferrater Mora Celebrations in Spain

The Ferrater Mora Chair (Càtedra) of Contemporary Thought at the University of Girona, directed by Professor Josep M. Terricabaras, is pleased to announce that the Nobel Prize Laureate, Professor Joseph Stiglitz of Columbia University will give a lecture entitled “The Three Trillion Dollar War” based on his latest book, The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict on 29 May, 2008, at the Pujada de la Mercè, 12-Girona, at 7pm. The Ferrater Mora Chair also announces that Professor Gianni Vattimo from the University of Turin will give a series of lectures between June 9 -13, 2008, in the Sala de Graus at the Faculty of Letters. The Ferrater Mora Chair of Contemporary Thought was founded in 1989. Each year the Chair organizes two seminars given by eminent thinkers of international renown. These seminars on contemporary thought consist of a number of lectures spread over a series of days in November and June. The first seminar was directed by the late Professor Josep Ferrater Mora himself in November 1989.
